LAY THE DRAW
Draws in cricket aren't the same as draws in football. So
don't assume this is yet another spin on the flawed "lay the
draw" system advocated by so many trading /
tipping websites. In two-innings
cricket matches, in other words those that take place over four or five
days, a match is declared a draw if it finishes with no clear winner. Two
factors mean there are likely to be less draws in the County Championship
than there have been for a while.
In 2010, the number of points a
team is awarded for winning a championship match increased
significantly. So, there is much more emphasis on winning and a
number of counties now prepare "result" wickets.
Also, since the start of
2011, use of the heavy roller (to keep the
wicket flat) is prohibited once a county game
has started. So, come the fourth day, pitches are
much more
difficult to bat on, which, again, increases the chances of a positive
outcome. Caution: the weather can be a negative. If too
much time is lost to rain, the chances of a match ending in a draw is
increased. If you check this page from time to time you will see some FREE
lay the draw cricket tips - though not when a
significant amount of rain is forecast. It's yet another reason to keep coming back to Bestbet!
